My “theme song” since last summer has been a line from Elizabeth Hunnicutt’s lyrical On the Way:
Still I fall and you reach,
I am foolish so you teach.
I wander but you stay
by my side on the way.
So often, as I realize something about myself or reflect on what God is teaching me, I sing to myself “I am foolish so you teach.” I am grateful that God is patient; He doesn’t condemn me in my foolishness but graciously invites me to better understanding of Him and of myself, of how to live in the life of Christ.
