President Richard Stearn’s The Hole in the Gospel is life changing. Our family sponsors children through World Vision and we have participated in their AIDS Caregiver Kit Builds.
Make Way Partners – Make Way Partners offers indigenous ministries of counseling, discipleship, education, employment, food, medical, shelter, and transportation which offer hope and practical assistance in the fight for freedom to those who are oppressed and at high risk of trafficking, especially where little to no other help is available because it is considered either “too” dangerous, “too” expensive or “too” remote for most people to go. Our family sponsors two orphans in Sudan through Make Way Partners.
International Justice Mission – International Justice Mission is a human rights agency that brings rescue to victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. Founder Gary Haugen’s Good News About Injustice: A Witness of Courage in a Hurting World is compelling.
Bay Area Anti-Trafficking Coalition – The Bay Area Anti-Trafficking Coalition facilitates the collaboration of individuals, communities and other organizations in order to build a united response to the injustice of human trafficking. Their 2013 Freedom Summit covered a broad range of topics.
Not For Sale – By creating enterprise opportunities for vulnerable communities, offering social services to survivors and those at-risk to human trafficking, and evaluating the use of forced labor in mainstream supply chains, Not For Sale works to ensure that no one is for sale. I was impressed with their approach at the Global Forum 2012.
Operation Mobilization India – OM India focuses on starting and growing churches, discipleship of individual believers, leadership training, primary education, economic development, macro-enterprise, micro-enterprise, and social justice and advocacy. I saw firsthand how the people of OM India lives out the gospel when I participated in a medical mission trip with them.
