Here are a few ministries I serve with and support.

Silicon Valley

Foster Children, though not necessarily orphans, need defense and nurture as well.  Help One Child supports at-risk children and those who care for them.

Reach Potential Movement partners with local churches, organizations, and individuals to support low-income and at-risk children, youth, and families with tutoring, camps, and other activities.

International

I am a big fan of Child Sponsorship, when implemented well, to connect us to God’s children around the world.  It has helped me be more concerned when I hear news about parts of the world where I sponsor a child and to have a face to pray for rather than just a general group of humanity.

World Vision uses child sponsorship to facilitate development in the entire community, developing wells, education, farming, healthcare, and more.  You will learn about your child’s community, receive pictures and updates, and be able to correspond with your child.

Make Way Partners supports indigenous leaders to develop and maintain orphanages in war-ravaged South Sudan.  Your support allows MWP to provide complete care for an orphan in an otherwise desperate situation.  Correspondence is limited because the postal system is not functional, but team members do carry letters back and forth once a year, and you can receive email updates on what’s happening there.
